Ocean Inspired
Growing up in New Jersey, I spent a lot of time at the beach. I was fortunate to have a great grandmother that had a house in Surf City on Long Beach Island, New Jersey where I would spend weeks at a time just two blocks from the Ocean.
The ocean is so many things to me but mostly it is like home. A place of mysterious beauty. A place to unwind and recharge. To be able to listen and get clarity. A place of pure joy and to find inspiration. A place to connect with something larger.
This past year I was struggling a bit. I was working on some life changes and had minimal time to paint. The nearest ocean is just over 5 hours away, so it is a bit challenging to just visit on a whim and get some solace.
Without intending to, I began painting the ocean choosing different hues of blue, pink, orange and gold, the colors of the sea and the sky. I found the paintings evoked the same emotions that I would feel sitting in the sand and looking out into the horizon. They were uplifting and healing.
I want to bring that same energy to homes without the sandy feet. Something to remind us that we can find solace, serenity, tranquility, peace, mystery, joy, healing, hope, awe and inspiration within.
I know buying original art is a big decision. I want to make sure that you LOVE IT before you buy it. I am happy to set up a virtual showing via zoom or you can come visit my in home studio if you live nearby.
